weekend in madrid part 2 is the rest of my pics from our madrileno city break.
we were still in malasana, walking around and enjoying the chilled saturday early evening.
did i mention that nobody was left indoors?
back on gran via on our very winding way home.
it was winding because we were trying to find this place. we’d seen it the night before but only had a vague idea about the exact location. yatai market was totally worth the wait: delicious pad thai and baos!
this is atocha station.
and this is our fast friend, dustin. we were petting him in turns while my girlfriends were busy buying things in his mother’s mousha concept store. great place, btw!
we encountered a street protest supporting wild wolves, i think. i was surprised to see real wolves in the street!
here, we were on segovia viaduct, enjoying the views.
this is the almudena catedral.
passing by the palacio real on our way to the adjacent garden.
jardines del campo del moro proved to be perfect for an icecream pit stop.
roll is where we had lunch. unfortunately, we couldn’t catch a table outside.
we reached the museo abc minutes after it closed. but we were lucky: somebody let us in the patio so we could at least snap a few pics.
this is la plaza de los comendadores. i remember it was very windy so we started layering.
last but not least we visited the real jardin botanico.
they had an amazing bonsai garden with dozens of dwarf trees. the best was an apple tree in blossom but the light was bad so i cannot use that picture.
the greenhouses were as hot and humid as expected.
the cover picture is actually the last of the day: a pastel sunset. this was a good weekend! i’m pretty sure i’ll go back soon!
