natalia brilli is a jewelry artist but she doesn’t exactly make cute, girlie pieces. she covers everything in leather: faceless watches, bracelets, skateboards, skulls and even a full rock&roll band made of skeletons. yeah, an installation i managed to miss twice: first in copenhagen and then in vienna, last year.
but you know her, too: remember the studded leather absolut vodka bottle? it was her.
she used to work for rochas, as head of accessories, under olivier theyskens. she cites victorian-era aesthetics and horror flick cult god dario argento among her influences. i love her work, it makes me consider paying large amounts for owning it.
here, I found an insightful interview by sang bleu and another one for elle belgique. enjoy!
