alternative christmas tree by little aestheteĀ is the last tree this year!
the alternative christmas tree project hopes to convince everybody that cutting a healthy tree only to throw it after two weeks is neither kind or cool. please make your own trees! have fun recycling, upcycling, improvising. there are no limits to what you can do. if you have kids, even better! they will cherish the memory of making a “tree” with their family, each year different and better. we will show you how easy it is to make a “tree” and i can’t wait to see what you come up with. enjoy your holidays!
as before, i made the last tree myself. it is inspired by the work of a czech artist i saw in bucharest last year. his name is jan kalab. i loved the idea of juxtaposing different colours so i went for it!
in case you want to replicate my tree, you need 8 sheets of cardboard, scissors, cutters and staples. i bet you can figure out the process by the sequence of the pictures. i see it as a cute little project to do with kids. also, it’s a reusable object and it stores well if folded properly.
i hope you liked our little project and that you will think twice in the future before buying a cut tree. remember: making your own is cheaper, kinder and more fun!
thank you very much to all my friends involved this year: daria from kittenhood, stefan and alex from allkimik, doru, anamaria, octav and mihaela! i hope you will enjoy the winter holidays with your loved ones!
