anhe 65 is one of those places i wish i could always visit even if i’m not in taipei. you know, by teleporting myself or something! it’s a cute cat cafe with the perfect atmosphere and everything i need: great food and drinks, impeccable service and cats.
we came across the cafe while wondering around on a rainy day. we went downstairs and saw this big place, full of tables, cats and cat-related stuff. we liked it so much we just had to go back later.
we had a delicious dinner set and we passed the time playing with louis and browsing the available books and magazines. i love doing this when i’m abroad, to get in touch with the local culture. am i the only one reading local magazines and books? or at least checking out the pictures, given the language barrier, of course.
we got cat attention from the one of the three resident felines. it makes sense though: louis was the youngest and he was always ready to run around and chase something. the other two are the oldest cat and their chief. and shan-shan (three in chinese), the 3-legged ginger cat.
i noticed that they organized all sorts of events. when i was there, they had an amelie hsieh x only two exhibition, beside their permanent collection and bric a brac. and i understand that they have jazz afternoons of sundays.
after going online for more info, i found out that anhe65 was opened in september 2012, by dr. wu, also the owner of a cosmetic clinic. a cat lover, she decided to invite japanese pepe shimada to be the cafe’s in-house artist and to dedicate the space to cultural events and to cat lovers.
you can find anhe 65 on facebook, at 65 section 1 anhe road in taipei and at telephone (02)2706-6565. don’t hesitate to visit them if you are in taipei. you won’t regret it!
