antwerp in 60 pictures is the day trip i took on a very sunny saturday, in november.
but i’ll start the series with the pictures i took on my morning walk towards the train station in ghent.
i reached sint pieters train station.
how comes all belgian train station are beautiful?
but no train station makes your jaw drop as much as the one in antwerp! half old, half new, this is one of the best train stations i’ve ever seen, in the entire world!
also, it’s where i met up with my friend who lives in bruxelles but willingly joined me for the day. yey!
we started by catching up in front of goodies in this very cool hipster place called coffeelabs. and then we started walking because we had one of the city’s newest highlights to visit.
we made a pit stop at mas. we climbed all the way up for the views. also, hoping to catch a glimpse of our final destination. no luck!
we could see the harbour.
we could see the old town.
but we had to walk all the way to see the new addition to the havenhuis. the modern extension is by zaha hadid and it was opened in october 2016.
then, we walked back, kinda cold and definitely hungry.
we had very late lunch: steak for my friend and flemish stew (is good for you, completed the waiter, lol) for me.
we said our goodbyes and each hopped in a different train.
this is back in ghent, on a saturday evening. i remember i was tired.
fancy cuberdons: they are not conical, as usual, but they have faces.
this was my 3rd day trip to antwerp. i like this place, why has it never been my actual destination? hmm, next time maybe.
