1. i managed to finish mr. know-it-all: the tarnished wisdom of a filth elder by john waters. read it if you’re into black humour and the behind the scenes of transgressive filmmaking.
MANGA
2. i read berlin by jason lutes. the gigantic spanish edition includes all the 3 volumes.
MAGAZINES
3. i read the current issue of british vogue, as usual. i can’t say i found kylie jenner, the cover girl, interesting enough. but i’m guessing she brings on the clicks…
MUSIC
4. inxs had a big concert in 1991 called live baby live. michael hutchence was 29 at the time, but at the peak of his game. i post my 9 favourites.

5. billie eilish is in her fuckboy era. and her new album, hit me hard and soft, is fire.
6. regret by new order is a very old favourite.
7. julio iglesias was heavily featured on the black market cassettes my dad got in the 70s. he has some undeniable bangers.
8. magnus used to be the band of tom barman and cj bolland. and these two are incredibly underrated favourites.
9. megan thee stallion is teaming with rm from bts on her latest single, neva play. she shows us you can be a sexy otaku girl with a self-funded hit album.
10. warhaus has a new album coming out in november. until then, maarten is singing in a loop in my head.
11. i’m still on the chapell roan train.
12. i love jameson ginger by yuki chiba! i like the sudden direction shift, the video, the featured rockabillies and the homage to enka style.
13. for the 25th anniversary of moon safari, air played the whole album at royal albert hall.
14. i cannot say goodbye to this brat summer without mentioning charlie xcx.
15. this summer belonged to the girlies. and sabrina carpenter was their queen.
TV SERIES
16. i’ve been following the twins for long time. so it was fun for me to see them behind the scenes in kaulitz&kaulitz. although, to be fair, tokio hotel has been video documenting and showing their behind the scenes activities for years. actually, i was wondering if they didn’t use the same team and sold the result to netflix. anyway, watch this if you’re a fan. also, i was happy to hear there will be a second season. get ready to brush up on your german!
17. omnivore is a mess. why would you hire rene redzepi to narrate somebody else’s lame words over somebody else’s footage? why would the pieces of the first episodes be put together so randomly? why would he bring his wife along, but never explain who she is or why she’s there?
the various food stories filmed around the world are both beautifully shot and interesting. but the danish chef who charges 1,000 for a meal seems to be only a big name they use to guarantee interest for the project. i wonder what was his fee, besides the free michelin sushi in tokyo with the wife.
18. emily in paris 4 was bearable. emily and her style are the weakest links. but sylvie is fabulous!
19. i’m watching the new brazilian series cidade de deus: a luta nao para as it is released. i guess i’ll be re-watching the original film, too.
20. i binged selling sunset 7 and 8. watch for 6-foot real estate fairies and million dollar homes.
FILMS
21. by mistake, i re-watched on the rocks by sofia coppola. rashida jones and her onscreen husband are the weak links to bill murray’s brilliance. the storyline is weak and forced. don’t waste your time. maybe in an airplane…

23. the gulbenkian foundation invested in a new wing by kengo kuma. on september 21st, it finally opens for the public.

25. wonderfully eloquent sayce holmes-lewis explains how police racism works in the uk. i’ve started following him on insta after watching this.
26. almodovar always manages to lure me back into his world. his first english-language film received the gold lion in venice and will be launched soon.
27. i saw the sheats goldstein residence in selling sunset, so i had to look it up.
