barcelona day 5 was another day spent walking around the city, getting to know it better.
i had decided that this trip wasn’t going to be as ambitious as the others. i actually have a list of cities for which i have a secret hope. i wish that one day, i’ll go and see them without the pressure. just hang out. that’s hard for me to do if it’s the first time i’m visiting. but this was my fourth time in barcelona and i decided it was time to just chill and wander aimlessly!
so we left off from raval, as usual.
i loved this note! some people lost their cat and they offer a 50 euro reward to whoever returns it or dinner. they say: if you like her, please find another one and return this one to use. aww! i hope they found it.
this is a stand in boqueria. if i’m not mistaken, this bunch of leaves are bay leaves next to the leek and the flat beans. it may be the first time i have ever seen them green and not dry, in the kitchen.
this cacaolat is a barcelona staple. yum!
we wandered into barri gotic and then el born.
when we reached barceloneta, we decided to go to the jean nouvel’s torre agbar so we went along the sea. at some point, we went into poble nou and all the way to the bottom of the tower.
this is the design museum. we couldn’t visit because the re-opening was a few days after our departure.

this is the national theatre of catalunya.
on our way back, a spray of rain started falling. we got home tired enough to take a shower and fall asleep.
google maps said that we might have walked another 10-kilometer plus day. i’m proud and happy that my mom can match my crazy walks around this place!
