bruges in 50 pictures is my post about the half a day i have recently spent there.
the 430-hectare oval-shaped center of this beautiful belgian town is a unesco world heritage site. just scroll down to see why.
we just wondered around, happy to escape the hoards of tourists. that’s how i managed to take so many pictures of empty streets. we found a flea market and we had lunch on a canal.
also, we came across a few local highlights: the church of our lady, the central market, stadhuis van brugge – the city hall and concertgebow – the concert hall next to the main train station. but feel free to find your favourites here or here.
i enjoy bruges. it’s quaint and picturesque. it is full of swans and chocolateries. and it has plenty of charming hidden corners. you just have to take the time to discover them.
the town is located 1 hour and 15 minutes away from bruxelles and only 15 minutes from north sea coast town ostend. the trains are comfortable, fast and affordable.
if you need a break from the rat race, just spend a long weekend in belgium. you’ll love it!
