day 1 – geneva is how i started my swiss holidays in 38 degrees heat. no, it is not a usual temperature: switzerland is currently riding an abnormal heat wave!
i took the first pic from the airplane. i was lucky to catch the french alpes in all their glory.
this is a picture of the airport train station. i love utilitarian settings, especially if they have primary colour blocking.
and this is the main entrance of the cornavin train station in geneva.
i liked this huge paste up. i spotted it from the train and i went there to take a few pics. it’s right at the edge of the les grottes neighborhood. i tried to find the author online but i just couldn’t…
upon arrival at the geneva airport, everybody is entitled to an 80-minute free public transport pass. we dropped our luggae in a train station locker and jumped into a tram to carouge, a beautiful italian suburb.
i loved la laiterie de carouge, a local dairy product store.
this was lunch at mizzica, a sicilian restaurant.
let (les enfants terribles) is a cute boutique, atelier and bar-cafe. visit it: you’re gonna love it!
this ufo is actually a hospital entrance.
this is transport, geneva-style: high heels and a scooter.
this is la clarte, one of le corbusier’s buildings.
after walking for hours in the punishing sun, we finally reached the leman lake and its jet d’eau.
in the afternoon, we hopped on a train to neuchatel, our base for the week. stay tuned for the next episode!
