i discovered hilary tsui recently as one of the taste makers featured by garance dore/the sartorialist in their j crew shorts.

i loved going through her personal blog(s): she updates often on outfits, nice meals, workouts, etc. her daughter and husband make occasional appearances. but i must say i had a hard time narrowing down the selection of pictures. they are in chronological order and span about two years worth of blogging  – you can watch the evolution of both clothes and hair cuts.

born on the 7th of march 1974, she’s a former actress, current store co-owner, married to hk pop royalty eason chan with whom she has a daughter named constance.

her super cool style has her mixing international staples (lots of celine, acne, isabel marant) with loads of eye-popping pieces from funky local designers she sells in her store. i like it that she looks comfortable and colourful most of the times, wearing wedges, sporty separates, lots of socks and sock-type things. i also like the fact that nothing ever seems to scare her off: neon, plastic berets, harnesses, stratospheric heels, etc. also, i suspect her of having an infinite wardrobe.

funny fact: i was saying i discovered hilary in the j crew shorts, but while going through her blog i realized i’d actually seen her before, in london: she walked by me with a friend and i considered taking pictures of her but she was pretty fast so i unfortunately gave up. i saw pictures on her blog saying she was in london at the exact same time and i totally recognized the outfit. i missed meeting hilary… damn!

anyhow, she’s one of my favourites now!
