last time i was in barcelona, i stayed at hotel europark*** of nunez i navarro hotels.
while it’s no w or mandarin, it offered fabulous services and atmosphere well beyond its price bracket. the room was modern and welcoming, the personnel was helpful and accommodating and the view from the roof terrace was great. from the sagrada familia penthouse, one can admire the beautiful passion facade of the world famous cathedral and from the barcelona penthouse, the amazing torre agbar by jean nouvel among others.
although the cold stopped me from using the small open air swimming pool, i remember imagining how perfect a night dip could be in the summertime.
the hotel is very close to the avinguda diagonal and within walking distance of gaudi’s la pedrera. right around the corner, there was a small bar with a very friendly woman who catered to our needs, customizing the menu in order to please us.
while i’m sure nobody needs any encouraging to go to barcelona again, perhaps you are not sure where to stay. if that’s the case, try the europark.
tablet hotels is where i found the hotel initially, so, in case barcelona is not your destination, check out this very useful website for further info
