hotel das weitzer is 103 years old, it has 204 fully refurbished rooms, 10 event rooms and free wi-fi. it is located on the river mur, next door from its sibling, hotel wiesler.
for 5 euro/day, you can rent a bike to discover graz. or you can pay 69 euro/day for the 80’s mercedes SL to go out of town. both options sound great to me!
i took a tour of the place and i liked their alternatives. this is one of their economy rooms.
then i was shown a classic room
and next, a classic rubin room, with the free standing tub in the back.
but there was nothing like the unbelievable suite. it had 116 sqm and a private terrace. add great views, a modern fireplace and it’s everything a cosmopolitan guest may need. a real home away from home!
you can tell i loved it, right? most of the pictures that i took are from there.
the hotel welcomes pets and they have a fitness club, a sauna and a steam bath. on the ground floor, you have the styrian der steirer restaurant and an adjoining bakery. they are currently in the trial and error stages of sourcing their own ingredients.
if you are planning to visit, check out their packages. i already miss wonderful graz!
you can follow das weitzer hotel on website, facebook, google+ and twitter.

Looks very very nice and welcoming. I think I’ll try it next time when I’m in Graz. Maybe not the suite, but you never know! 🙂
