in brasov for my birthday is about my visit and how great it was. day trips are well worth taking!
we arrived on sunday evening since my birthday was on monday.
we had great italian dinner at dei frati.
that is the black church as seen from behind, from the piata sfatului.
that is tampa, where you can go by cable car.
we took a walk in the schei neighbourhood. it’s a quiet area of house-lines streets along the tampa. i love it!
i told each and every animal i met that day that it was my birthday and they all gave me the best gift: hanging out for a bit!
here’s a modernist house i love.
can you see the dogs on the roof?
this is the view from up the hill. i envy whoever own a house in this area: on one side you have the tampa forest on the other, the brasov in the valley. nice!
another instant friend: a cute irish setter girl!
the rain we had been fearing since the morning finally came. but it was all bark and no bite: the skies looked threatening but the actual rain was sparse.
this is the birthday lunch, at another italian restaurant called trattoria pocol. it was nice, a little fancier though.
then, we went to livada postei, a park in the middle of the town.
we found a place where we had coffee and fruit sashimi instead of a birthday cake.
the terrace is called kasho lounge. i’m totally going back the next chance i get!
and then, on to the train station. i took a few last pics of the trains. the light made everything look great.
even if it was barely 24 hours, it made a big difference. see you soon, brasov!
