1. i’ve been re-reading after dark by haruki murakami. i’m trying to improve my italian and it’s working.
MAGAZINES
2. i don’t even know what i could mention from this month’s british vogue issue.
MUSIC
3. harry styles is back new album. but the new residency tour prices are outragous…
4. mandika by sinead o’connor is a blast from the past.
5. i think dirty tech is kim gordon‘s second single from her recent album. do singles still exist?
6. right before he announced he was takinga break, iggy pop was fetured on an anna calvi track.
7. addison rae is last year’s surprise. but i’m late to the party.
8. diamanda gallas was in porto recently. i didn’t go to see her at casa da musica. but i listened to this goldie from the natural born killers soundtrack.
9. i was thinking i should be organizing my brazilian music studies.
FILMS
10. the big short is a film about the mechanisms behind the 2008 financial crisis. i found it very educative.
11. it was so interesting that i tried to watch a related film called margin call. but this one was not good, in spite of the equally interesting casting. if the big short served the dry financial info coated in fun and drama, margin call failed to do so and was rather unwatchable as a result.
12. i’ve seen several of joaquim trier’s films and i like his world building. i was glad to see he found a place for his surgeon friend anders in sentimental value. which was excellent, I 100% recommend it!
13. pillion is a a24 film by first time director harry lighton. the casting was great but the storyline loses wind by the end. still, a fun watch.

15. jeremy strong interviews karl ove knausgard for interview magazine. i’ve already bought the first 3 of the 6 books of my struggle.
16. wagner moura is being interviewed by his friend elisabeth moss. i liked it.
PODCASTS
17. i’ve listened to a record 4 fashion neurosis episodes this month. let’s start with christy turlington.
18. alex wasser is a writer/director i had never heard about before. she’s funny, i have never laughed so much during a podcast.
19. esther perel is an unfilfilled promise for me, again and again.
20. charlotte gainsbourg opens up to bella. and her voice is just made for audio.
21. call her daddy humanized dove cameron for me, after plastic surgery had made her alien.
22. alex cooper traveled to seoul to talk to rosé. nice.
23. the host is unbearable, but alex skarsgard is nice.
24. this is tom barman doing a full podcast in portuguese! i found this especially fun to listen to.
25. i enjoyed listening to marc newson on ruthie’s table. he speaks about his youth and about living in various countries.
EXHIBITIONS
once or twices a year, we go to lisbon. this is why we went in january:
26. complexo brasil was fenomenal! the fundacao gulbenkian show was absolutely worth travelling for. it was the complex introduction to brazil i needed.
27. casa das historias has 2 new paula rego shows. they were definitely worth going to cascais for.
28. on the way back home, we stopped at fundacao albuquerque in sintra. it is a private museum for chinese ceramics and contemporary ceramics.
YOUTUBE
29. who knew bad bunny was the superhero we needed? this record breaking show was wonderfully layered and full of meaning. gracias, benito!
30. luca bombassei is an architect who loves art.
31. lorenzo bassetti is an entrepreneur with good taste.
32. it was fun watching margot and charli vibe so well together.
33. josh went to newfoundland and is telling us everything about it.
34. and then, or before, he went to switzerland. i dare you to not like it.
35. since i walk at least one hour daily, this video is very encouraging.
