march 2026 finds is finally here!
BOOKS
1. i bought livro guia de arquitetura de sao paulo de fabio valentim while i was in sp. it’s a useful book full of information about local architecture.
2. i chose suite toquio by giovana madalosso because i wanted to read brazilian literature in brazilian portuguese while i was in brazil. also, giovana is from and lives in sao paulo. the book is a roller coaster. not my favourite, but i loved the exposure to the unfamiliar language.
MAGAZINES
because this post is late, i had the time to read two issues of british vogue.
3. the one with olivia rodrigo on the cover. which also had a great interview and set of pictures with 80-year old charlotte rampling. fire!
4. and the one with charli xcx on the cover. i’m not charli’s biggest fan, but i’m watching her. i’d say that these two issues were more interesting than the other recent ones.
MUSIC
5. dpr ian has a new single out, my fav song this month.
6. t.o.p. made a solo comeback now that he severed all ties with bigbang. the album has a few bangers. my favourite is studio 54
7. bts made their comeback with a new album and a huge marketing campaign. if swim is radio-friendly, i don’t think arirang is their best album.
8. bush did their own tiny desk. i loved the machinehead intro, but i teared up when that crazy little piano started glycerine. i’m gonna dig up sixteen stone.
9. youtube recomended this recent interpol concert and it was good.
ps: paul banks has the best instagram. also, he’s fluent in spanish because he lived in spain during his adolescence.
10. from the same festival, i watched the deftones concert. sr. moreno is in great shape!
11. nin listened to the people and released a full album with boyz noize as nine inch noize.
at coachella, they performed as such and brought out reznor’s wife for half the tracks.
12. the strokes are releasing a new album at the end of june. here is their first coachella set.
but look up their second coachella set: they ended it with footage that criticizes usa’s foreign politics.

14. m.i.a. is also back with a new album.

15. i went to nearby maia for a very substantial paula rego exhibition called histórias gravadas. da imaginação para a chapa.

16. the main reason for my recent trrip to brazil was seeing a bunch of buildings. here are my favourites, by architect.

TV SERIES
17. euphoria season 3 has started. yes, it’s kinda weak, but i’ll be definitely watching all of it.
PODCASTS
18. being in a few flights allowed me to catch up on my podcasts.
i have been hoping since the beginning that billy would bring ex-gf courtney love on his podcast. now that he has, i need at least one more episode to make sense of what was said lol.
19. melissa auf der maur has a new book out. i’ll buy it. she’s another of his exes and she was both in smashing pumpkins and hole. their talk was fortunately much more coherent and insightful. learn loads about the behind the scenes of the grunge era, kids. and they both stand behind courtney’s talent and against her many detractors.

21. it was fun to listen to billy talk to jesse rutherford from the nhbd, who is half his age.
ps: the band will be in lisbon as part of their world tour.
22. kyle maclachlan had a nice talk with louis theroux, covering his extensive career. he gives insight about his relationship with david lynch, among many others. fun.
23. kid cudi branched out with a new podcast. his second guest was jenna ortega. i’ll be watching his future guests, but i don’t promise i’ll be necessarily listening to the episodes.

24. i like to watch this guy, but i know i will never buy like he does.
25. julian casablancas was a guest on subway takes.
