may 2026 finds is here!

BOOKS
1. i read the paula rego catalogue for the exhibition histĂłrias gravadas. da imaginação para a chapa. i’m glad i bought it.
2. i read the second book in the fifty shades of grey trilogy: darker. due to the very repetitive nature of certain words, i couldn’t avoid learning how to say panting, pouting and whispering in portuguese. oh, and growling. yeah, i would not recommend the book. unless you are interested in how such a misogynist and simplistic fantasy became such a high seller worldwide. or in improving your language skills, like i am.
3. freed is the third book in the trilogy. i’m shaking my head thinking how so many people loved this blueprint of patriarchy. the very rigid gender and sex roles, the fact that she eats little or not at all, argh.
4. and i’ve been zipping through grey: the first book is the second trilogy. so, the same story but seen through his eyes. i’d love to see the sales numbers by book.
FILMS
5. lost highway by david lynch doesn’t make much sense. but there is a narrative there, as fucked up as it is. i liked the pearls: people i know in small roles and the soundtrack. especially i’m deranged which i’ve been listening to in a loop. it was worth going to the cinema and watching the whole thing again for the opening squence alone. time travel!
6. but inland empire was a no-script 3h long night terror of criss-crossing universes. i can’t begin to tell you what happened during those 3 hours.
MUSIC
7. i found echoes on skin by darian veyl by mistake. and i love it.
8. caribbean blue by enya is old but still fire.
9. brian ferry covered i put a spell on you and made it his. wonderful!
just as i’ve gotten into killa fonic and he’s just released a new 19′ album called arhangheli. the only track i’d maybe replay at this point is the dembow at the end. but i do love a lot of his older stuff.

18. this reminded of another great cover by deftones, no ordinary love.
19. i might’ve shared this live version of the everlasting gaze before. but i still love it as much
20. as mentioned above, i’m deranged by bowie and brian eno, from the album outside.
