takashi murakami is an amazing artist whose superflat style made people take notice. whether you know him from his collaborations with marc jacobs for louis vuitton, from his huge 2010 versailles show or from yesterday’s google doodle marking the beginning of summer 2011, murakami’s work is impossible to miss.
starting with june 27th and until august the 5th, he has a new show at the gagosian gallery, in london, paying homage to the meiji master, seiki kuroda (there was also a two-day preview 9-10.06 in tokyo).
in collaboration with 3 famous illustrators: tony (designer of ‘shining tears’) , kei (designer of ‘hatsune miku’) and ooyari ashito (designer of ‘little witch’), the exhibition focuses on modern aesthetics and contemporary views of women.
don’t miss it if you’re in london! enjoy!
