paris 2016 part 3 is the last day of my short trip!
this is the pasarelle simone de beauvoir, across the seine between the bibliotheqe nationale and the cinematheque francaise.
this is the view of the 13eme arrondissement from my airbnb.
i started my day with a walk in nearby chinatown and i loved it!
i kept on walking towards the seine.
until i reached la bibliotheque nationale.
i took a pit-stop for a bit of wi-fi at the cinematheque francaise. trivia: the building is by frank gehry.
and then i walked to pere lachaise, where i took a left in an attempt to reach a parc i like.
how could i pass the opportunity to share a little word play with you?
perhaps you know the park, it’s called buttes chaumont. it’s in the 19eme arrondissement. if you want to catch a glimpse of tourist-free parisian life as well as great views of paris, do not miss this!
on my way to la villette, by mistake, i found a new park: square de la butte du chapeau rouge. nice!
this is the reason why i walked to la villette: the jean nouvel building for la philarmonie.
i took a stroll on the quai de la marne.
until i reached my actual destination, la gare de nord, where i jumped on the eurostar back to london.
when i was still in the planning stages of this trip, i feared the moody weather would ruin it for me. one day before take off, my host cancelled on me at midnight. but an airbnb girl wrote to me and was super helpful so i managed to get a new host in minutes. then i found out that i couldn’t see yoshitomo nara in person because his opening night was going to take place while i was still riding the eurostar to london. the whole minitrip seemed to have a little bad karma.
but paris was wonderful, as always! the weather was beautiful and sunny most of the time which was a great relief. these 3 days will stay in my mind for ever!
