san quirico dorcia in 30 pictures is a short stop we made on our way from siena to pienza and then arezzo.
as i was saying yesterday, the rolling hills of tuscay were part of the destination, that’s why you’re seeing so much of them.
our stop in san quirico d’orcia was short but great. the town was nearly empty and i loved that. if usually i have to wait for people to vacate my shots, this time it wasn’t even the case. we walked the deserted streets and we only found people in the very central area.
do you know what this flower is? a former possible caper lol. you can see next to it the green buds that could be marinated and that could end up on your plate. it was my first time running into such a plant.
this is collegiata, the local cathedral.
la chiesa di san francesco was all decorated but i don’t know the reason.
il bar centrale was very happening.
we took a short look at the horti leonini.
we wanted to have lunch here, at la cantina dell’osenna, but it was kinda early so they turned us away. we didn’t like it so much but it was for the best: we ended up having lunch in a spectacular setting in pienza.
we also passed by chiesa di santa maria assunta.
i could have come home with 100 kilos of varios kinds of majical pecorino!
my boyfriend had coffee in this fiat 500 themed bar. it was too late for a cornetto, i wanted a real meal already so i waited it out.
we got our car and drove away towards our next stop, with 360 soothing views like the ones below.
stay tuned for the upcoming pienza post!
