sanaa is a tokyo-based architectural company founded in 1995 by ryue nishizawa and kazuyo sejima. this year, they received the pritzker prize, architecture’s highest reward. perhaps their names ring no bell with most of us but their amazing buildings surely do.
their amazing works include the new museum of contemporary art in ny, the rolex learning center in lausanne, the dior building in omotesando, tokyo, the serpentine gallery in london, louvre lens in lens, france, the 21st century museum in kanazawa, japan to only mention a few.
i chose kanazawa to be on my japanese route just because of the art museum and my bf got a tee-shirt with the museum plan on it. i also saw the dior building in omotesando. double score!
here’s some pictures of what vision can do!
