having personal style is great and all. but an involvement in the fashion industry often brings about important exposure to great clothes, relevant knowledge and a certain amount of publicity on the right channels. and that always helps!
see taylor tomassi-hill, the art director for modaoperandi.com (website where you can buy the clothes right after having seen them on the catwalk – smart idea!) and the alleged muse of prabal gurung.
she also launched a mini collection for lane crawford earlier this year.
with a bachelor of industrial design degree from pratt institute, her first internship was at w magazine, in the accessories department, which led to a full-time position. then she became the fashion-market editor there and then the senior fashion editor at teen vogue, before finally switching back to accessories editor at marie claire us.

her style is not at all constant and i see it as a real exercise watching her go from one look to the next with such ease. i would like to see more of her!
