valencia in pictures part 2 is what happened next during my trip.
below you have a few pics from our trip to saler, one of the wilder beaches just outside the city.
i rarely miss picking sea shells when i have the opportunity. this is what i found, washed and laid out to dry in the hotel room.
la plaza del ayuntamiento was closed for cars. here you have a huge pan and the huge rakes that were used later for a proper valencia paella.
this is why the center was closed for the cars: a bicycle race.
this is a collaboration between local street artists escif and hyuro.
this is right across the street from the mercado central.
this is the lonja de seda from outside. i wanted to go in for some good pictures but both times i was in the area, swarms of tourists appeared and i gave up, because the perfect pictures are without any people.
i wrote about these murals before.
this is another julieta piece in el carmen.
on sunday, the ivam is free to visit.
this is the pont de les arts, right where ivam is. it was sunday so people were chilling out somewhere so the city was empty: perfect fro walking!
the rest of the pictures are from the museo de bellas artes de valencia. i loved the starry sky cupola!
they have mostly spanish and valencian art from the 14th – 17th centuries. expect goya, velazques as well as 42 works by joaquin sorolla – a famous valencian artist.
i liked this locking system: just how complicated does it look?
by now, you realized how much i like to walk around and discover the soul of my destination cities. if you want to find out where this walk ended, stay tuned for the final set of pictures!
