valencia part 3 is the last set of pictures from my winter holiday stay.
i noticed i took a lot of pictures of the sky, which is unusual for me. but i just liked how all the buildings looked on the blue background.
can you spot the conservatory? yes, it’s the narrow building in the corner.
these are the torres de serranos and are one of the original 12 such gates that were part of the city walls. they were used as a prison at some point in time. nowadays, they serve for the opening of official ceremonies such as the fallas, among others.
i can never get over the variety and high quality of the street art in this city. i love it!
this is the very cool centre del carme which i found by chance. i liked the tapas – spanish design for food exhibition and the patio!
this is a recent find. it’s called patatas a lo pobre con huevo y hamon and it’s delicious.
by total chance, we were able to visit part of the catedral de valencia. it was free and, more importantly, there was no line! we went around and even stayed to listen to part of a nice man’s story of the holy chalice. that is the glass used by jesus during the last supper. both the story and the cathedral are interesting especially if you are into that kind of thing.
we always stop to see the dogs getting a make over here. most of them are interested to interact.
this is a walk we took in a less popular part of valencia called patraix.
and this is the lucky shot i took from my flight back home of albuferra: can you see how huge it is?
valencia has many secrets. how long can it take until i find out all of them?

I love reading your posts on all the cities you visit. I also love your your photos. You have such a wonderful eye for composition and architectural detail. I especially enjoyed your posts on Valencia. I moved here about eight months ago and love living in this city and enjoying all it has to offer. Like you, the high quality and sheer volume of the street art here is incredible. Walking around for hours (usually aimlessly) is my favourite thing! When next you visit, get in touch. I’d love to meet for a coffee!
